Default Fast Blinker/No Brake Light

My 2011 is having a blinker/brake light issue that I'm having a hard time tracking down. The left rear tail light works when the headlights are on, but the blinker and brake light does not work, causing fast blinking. However, the hazard lights work properly. I've checked and replaced bulbs, which were fine but replaced anyway, and stuck a meter in the socket to make sure it was getting power, which it is.

I've done some googling and it looks like it could be related either to the body control module, or the multifunction switch. My mechanic put a code reader on and didn't get any codes for the BCM and seems to think its the MF switch, but everything I read seems to lean towards the BCM. I have found several threads on different sites, but nothing exactly conclusive. Anyone have any tips or insight on something I might be missing? Thanks!

I dont want to ask a dumb question, but have you tried swapping bulbs with the other tail light?

Yes, swapped bulbs, including putting in new bulbs. Also swapped relays to see if the problem switched sides.

There are 4 bulbs in the rear, any one goes out and you get the hyper flash.

MF switch is probably cheaper and pretty easy to change out, but truthfully the way they have these things wired anything is possible. But I do think I would try that first.

Agreed. If all the bulbs are good and no obvious wiring damage, I'd try a new MF switch.
