Can anyone verify if the Ford key (P/N 164-R8067) works with starting the factory remote starter?

Oh yea! Key came i today ad went out and programed the remote part of it to ensure it worked. It did. Then cause some of yal went to Home Depot to get your key cut I did as well. Free! Programed the key in the parking lot! First try no go. I either used to much time or not enough on a step because second time it went perfect! This key is great!

This is pretty much the key i got. But mine has the trunk button. Not a big deal. Also got mine from a different seller. I decided to bid on it to get it cheaper. It turned out a few others were interested as well. Was 37.50 total after a last second $34 bid. Overall this key is awesome! I think I will pick up a flip key next as my wife likes that style. Figure it dont hurt to have 2 spares.

On the 4 button remote key can you program the trunk button to remote start the truck?

OK -- here is my update:

I purchased this flip key from eBay seller artiway: http://tinyurl.com/4c83ap2

It was shipped from Taiwan and arrived in 8 calendar days -- I was pleased with the time frame.

The key is well built -- although not as hefty as the factory flip on my friend's Audi.

I was able to get the key cut for free at Home Depot. However, a word of advice -- they were unable to cut the key while it was still attached to the case. The metal itself had to be removed. Luckily, the guy had a set of jeweler's screwdrivers right there. It might be wise to take care of this at home.

The programming was pretty easy too. The only thing that hung me up was the wording on the first step. I may have just been misreading it or whatever, but once it made sense to me it took all but five minutes to program the remote to lock/unlock and the key to start the truck.

My only point of contention -- on the base of the key, there is a place for a lanyard. But, a normal keyring will not fit onto this. I need to figure out the best way to "attach" my house key.

That said, I would recommend buying this key from artiway on eBay.

Just received my flip key and tried to have it cut, but it wouldn't fit in the machine. I removed the screw on the back and it wouldn't come apart. What's the secret to this?
Never mind, I got it!

I had the same issue, and found that if you remove the screw at the bottom of the key, the black casing will open up and you can remove the lanyard piece. It is still hard to get the ring in, but it is a little easier. (I seem to remember I needed to use tools)

The best/easiest way is too remove the screws that hold the blank blade onto the key itself. Give that a try.

I got mine cut at Lowes and I did not have to remove the blade from the FOB portion. Then I took some picture hanging wire and a terminal lug with heat- shrinking wire cover and fashioned a key ring. now I have a key ring attached to the end of the terminal lug with my house key and remote start attached to that.
