Default Leaking Power Sliding Rear Window Glass

So, I don't drive my personal truck too much these days. I walk to get to my company truck and drive it everyday to and from work, then when my wife and I run errands or go somewhere we almost always take her vehicle. A few days back I got into my truck and it smelled bad, musty, mildewy kind of smell. I found that the carpet was wet, and under further investigation there was water under the door sill plate in the channel where the wiring harnesses are. I went about trying to find the source of the water, and suspected the sunroof drains were the culprit. Decided I was going to pull down the headliner to get to the drain lines. As I started to remove the fasteners that are above the back window I found mold on the back wall right under the slider window, and the floor carpeting directly below is absolutely saturated.

I had to gut the interior of the truck, removed the seats, console, door sills, B&C pillar trims, and then the entire carpet from it. The carpet is soaking wet from the back wall all the way to the back of the front seats, and then along both sides up to the front edge of the front doors. The channels in the floor next to the doors where the wire harnesses are were full of water for the full length of the cab. Turns out that the seals on the sliding section of the rear window are leaking, and no wonder once I got it apart I found that a 1/2" long piece of the lower seal is missing. I have ordered the parts to repair it from Ford (part # AL3z-15262A80-A Seal Kit), but it looks like they may not be here until next week though. Probably going to have to put a tarp over the top of it for the interim if it looks like rain until the parts get here. Vacuumed the carpet completely and soaked it with distilled white vinegar to kill the mold. I may have to use a carpet cleaner machine on it with some cleaning agent to get the musty smell out of it. I will check it tomorrow after it has a chance to dry out and see how it smells.
Wishing for luck that the parts get here soon and I don't have any other difficulties with getting it put back together.

Unfortunately after digging around here more, I discovered that the seal kit I ordered will not fix the problem...

In my quest to repair the water leak in my truck (2011 Ford F150 Platinum) from the rear power sliding window, I found out that the seal kit I ordered from Ford does not actually include the seal that is bad.
Today I called the local Ford dealer and Ford about getting just the seal that I need, since I cannot locate just the seals online. Both the dealer and Ford tell me the seal I need is not available, and is only included in complete assembly. Instead of selling me just the seal that is defective (which is honestly around $10-$20 worth of flocked rubber seal), Ford wants me to purchase the entire rear window assembly for $600.00!!
The rep on the phone told me that Ford Motor Company has never offered those seals separately. She was a little surprised when I gave her the Ford part number (6L3Z1542052A Weatherstrip Kit) for the same seal kit for the previous generation (2004-2008) of F150 trucks that I need, and asked if it would fit mine. I was told that I would have to call the dealer parts department to find out. The dealer says they have never tried to use it, and doubts that it would work, then they told me to call Autozone!! (BTW, the price for it is obscene also at $125.38, but not near as bad as buying the whole window assembly.)
I have ordered the seal kit for the 2004-2008 models and will update here on whether it will work or not.

You can see in the pictures below that Ford shows the seal I need separately where I circled it in red (but Ford refuses to sell it to their customers),

the next one is the entire assembly that Ford wants me to purchase.

This pic is the seal kit I ordered not realizing it didn't include all of the seals, it is from technical service bulletin (TSB) 13-5-15 for addressing water leaks! Hence why I thought it would be all of the seals. (hadn't found a pic or full description before ordering it)

Followed by the parts for the 2004-2008 that the rep said were never sold separately!

Ford Motor Company Please step up and help out your customers, as I am not the only one that needs theses seals. It is absolutely outrageous to expect your customers to purchase a $600 window assembly when $20 worth of flocked rubber seal material would fix the issue!!

Default i feel your pain..

this isnt a leak issue but same problem. my drv seat would not adjust down one day. So I called Ford and expected to pay dearly for a "up" motor for my seat. and wham-o it happened.. dealer says they dont sell the motors separately for the seats. The only way for me to aquire said part was to purchase the seat assy. as a.whole to get the motors.for the low low price of 850.00. now i was willing and expected to shell out some serious bucks for a motor, but frankly 850.00 was a little more than what i had figured or had period. not avail unless you purchase the whole shooting match. i needed a motor but Ford wanted to force sell me the truck as a full assy. lol

Consider used or possibly reconditioning the existing.

Yep, contact a local electric motor shop and see about having it repaired or rewound if necessary.

Well this sucks - have you consider an automotive glass replacement company to see if it's something they come across?

Bugger.

That sucks, if it wasn't a Plat i'd be still trying to look for other things. Though at this point, it might be a suck it up for the new glass. I'd get a carpet extractor going too, nothing like leaving that stuff to dry naturally and still have rain water combined with whatever was washed in with it.

If I were in your shoes and was going to keep the truck, I would replace it with solid glass, if possible. This is why my next Ford will not have this back glass or a sunroof!

Good luck!

Exactly my next plan of action. Waiting for the 2004-2008 seals to come in and see if they fit. If not, I am ordering the solid heated privacy glass and calling it a day, it runs about $250. I will not spend the $600 for another one of these power windows to leak later.
