Update: The seal kit for the 2004-2008 F150's (Ford part # 6L3Z-1542052-A, Weatherstrip, Back Window) came in. The good news is that the seals are exactly the right ones for the 2009-2014 models! The bad news is that it is extremely difficult to install them without removing the entire window frame from the truck.

The instructions for the 2004-2008 have you pull the upper glass run track out then lift the sliding glass from the lower track and tilt the bottom out to remove the sliding glass from the frame. Unfortunately the mount for the center seat shoulder seat belt is right in the way and is welded in place, you cannot remove the sliding glass without taking the window frame out.

But, I was absolutely persistent and managed to tilt the glass out an set it on the pinch weld while I pulled the old seals out and cleaned the surfaces. Doing this required moving the glass as far to the right and left as I could several times while I scraped the old urethane out and cleaned any residue off. I then dry fit each of the seals and had to slightly trim two of them. I then ran a bead of new sealant into the frame and placed the seals. On a couple of spots I had to apply the sealant to the rib on the seal because the glass positioning would not allow me to get the tube of sealant into the area. I placed the sides first then closed the window on them for a time to let the set up, the moved on to do the upper and lower seals. Once all were in place, I reinstalled the glass and the upper run track, I made sure all four seals were in their proper locations once the window was closed. I am going to leave it in place overnight to let the seals set into place and the sealant to cure before I allow the glass to move.

Wow, alright then!

Hopefully that was it and it'll be sealed tight, seriously good job if it works, and far cheaper

Amen to this. I will never own another truck with an opening rear window.

FYI, if anyone is interested, the part number is BL3Z1542006A for the dark gray tinted with heated defroster stationary back glass.

I'm curious too. It's been a year and when he said he gutted the interior.. well I'm impressed.

When I bought my 09 XL, it had a solid rear window, I bought a (manual) slider from Tasca Ford, they always offer good prices on NEW FORD parts.. That said I don;t thru anything away.. I still have the old window.. If some one wants it I can work with them.. however just know mine is an '09 XL regular cab.. If someone wants it, they have to do the research on fitment.

Default $109.75 with “Free Shipping”. Really?

Stopped my rear slider from leaking. Placed wax paper against the glass and filled in area missing gasket material with silicone from Ace Hardware. Slider is opened and closed nearly daily.

Those sliding tracks do have drains in them, make sure they're clear so any water that gets by the seal can get out.

I always hated trying to put those new rubber seals on. Hope some type of adhesive was used. They do work, though.
