Anyone have one? Have searched all threads and cant find any mention of this new cap from ARE. Leaning towards the X series over the popular Z series because I think the Z is too sleek. I don't want my truck to look like an SUV. Please post pictures if you got em as the A.R.E. website does not even have a picture of a F150 with a X series cap on it, only the Raptor.

Seriously no one??? Everybody and their cousin has the A.R.E. Z series cap, guess I can take comfort in knowing that I will be a little different. Just ordered the X and should have pictures in 3-4 weeks when it arrives.

Looks like a step below the Z series to me. I like my Z series and the flow of it. Not having frameless glass kills the X series for me, really makes the Z series look sharp on my truck.

Ok the second video is of the "CX" series cap and not the X. The X series is new in 2013 and has very similar features as the Z only the shape is slightly different. Here is a link:

The X comes standard with 50/50 slider side windows, fabric liner, hidden hinges on back window and palm handle. I opted for the tilt in/slider front window, roof rack and power locks.

Not to be Debbie Downer... but I went through 2 ARE caps in 2 years living in Portland & Bend, Oregon. Broken struts, leaked, cracked, trim pieces falling off, etc... Go Leer or SnugTop... I love my Snugtop Xtravision... the wider windows are great for pets who like to hang their heads out and also when driving in reverse or changing lanes.
Snugtop is the only one that uses Ford factory paint btw. Also, ARE still uses that dated rubber gasket on the bottom and the "old school" C-clamp attachment system. My San Diego,CA camper sales person actually talked me out of the ARE shells that they sell and suggested the SnugTop with the bigger windows... I was so glad they did. Also, having a metal framed rear glass is stronger and a much tighter seal when hitting the trails.
Note- the only thing I wish I got again was the roof rails... it makes a nice place to grab onto when climbing up on the rear tire to wash/dry the roof.

Nice shell, I'm sure you'll be happy with ARE quality and paint match. I really wanted the frameless glass which is why I got the Z. I like the look of the roof rack and wish I had gotten the power locks. Check out some of the LED light threads for some lighting upgrades. I had to re-do mine as the factory 12v light was worthless.
