my high heat paint job held up great until the rainy season came and my all terrains threw some mud on it. when the mud chipped off, it took some of the paint with it

From what I understand the plastidip works just fine. And being that it's rubberized it doesn't chip or peel like paint as long as it's on thick enough.

OK I might try that if this turns ugly.

Best part about it is the only real prep you need is a good bath in rubbing alcohol.

The Harley DIY exhaust guys use the HVT Exhaust and header Stuff(I beleive) and they bake theirs in per instructions and they have zero issues with scratches etc....

I've painted my chrome tip about a year ago. Scuffed it up with sandpaper, degreased it and used High temp Engine paint... Have not had to touch it up yet. But I do have mudflaps in the back. they get dirty... but havent had any chips from rocks etc.

As far as the plastidip... Saw a guy at work do this. It looked like crap after the tip heated up and the plastidip melted. He may have done somethng else wrong with the aplication.. unsure. But the effect I saw sucked!

He did something wrong. 5+ coats and it shouldn't melt.
