Default Sunroof leak?

Just took the truck through a car wash. Pretty strong pressure water is used at this one. Seems like some small amounts of water made it through the sunroof gasket. Does this sound like the gasket seal is going bad or is it more a symptom of the water pressure used at this particular. At wash?

Sounds like your drains are plugged. Some water is allowed to bypass the gasket. There are two drains in the front corners of the track. Try using some light blasts of compressed air to blow them out.

Open the moonroof all the way up, stand on the door sill with the door open. You will see a "ditch" where the water gathers in the front. Right in the corners there is a 1/4" hole on both sides. The drains run down the a pillars.

I thought those drains are utilized when the roof window is open and a little water comes in?

The window gasket on mine tore and I replaced it. There are 4 screw adjustments that allow you to align it perfectly for a complete seal. I've run mine through high pressure washes and not single drop comes in. I check it almost every time I go through a wash thinking that it can't possibly withstand the water pressure, but it does. This is a tricky adjustment since they recommend that the front sit slightly lower than the surface height and the rear sit slightly higher for aerodynamics - we are talking an eighth inch here.

There may be no perfect adjustment depending on the pressure wash in question, but the window certainly shouldn't leak with water simply poured covering the top of the truck. I would try this test to determine if the gasket is out of alignment.

I understood the op as saying he was getting water dripping inside the truck. It is ok if it comes in and goes into the ditch, then out the drains. This is normal.

If it is coming in enough to overflow the ditch, and get the headliner wet, or run across the headliner and out the grab handles, then either your drains are plugged, or too much water is coming in. In my experiences, its typically the drains plugged with pine needles and other tree debris. I live in the country, and this is common.

My 11 150 and 11 fusion were both ordered without sunroofs. No leaks.

Not enough to overflow. Just enough to go in the drip tray.

i also noticed this leak during a carwash on my previous 250. I just figured it was too much pressure.

Then that shouldn't be much of a worry at all. The drains should take care of it. I would only worry if water gets in during driving or when water is poured on top.
