Quick question, need some opinions. I really wanted to run 18's but they only came in a -12 offset, so I decided I can get used to the 33s on 20's look. They are 20x9s.
Question is, should I run +1 or +20 offset? The +1 has a 5" backspace, the +20 has a 5.75" backspace. I will be running 33x12.5r20 or 305/55r20 (or similar). Mud tire or A/t.
I will also be leveled on a 2" leveling kit.
I want a tiny bit of poke, but I would rather no poke than a "skating look", which is why I avoided the -12 offset. Opinions? I don't want stuff getting thrown up on the truck from having too much poke.
I personally like the poke and am going with -12 myself. I started off with +35 offset XD's, then went with 1.5" spacers to get them around -3 offset, now I want to get rid of having to use spacers and am getting -12 offset. Although I see where you're coming from. My vote is to go with +1, but from what you've wrote I would guess you would be happier with +20. Here's a quick comparison (I think that is the stock 18" size?)
You might rub with the 60, the 55 is only an inch wider than stock. Did the 2wd trucks come with 275/55r20's?
55 and 60 have nothing to do with width. 285/55 and 285/60 are both 10mm (a touch less than 1/2") wider than the stock 275/55 (and yes, OEM 20s have 275/55 regardless of 2wd or 4wd).
285/55 is 11.2" wide and 32.3" tall, 285/60 is 11.2" wide and 33.4" tall.
OEM 275/55 is 10.8" wide and 31.9" tall.
Just looking at how much room there is in the wheel well I would think they would both fit, just looking for confirmation from someone who might have had either size.
What is stock offset? I could have sworn it was like 4.5". If so you would be sticking out 1.25" with the +20 (if my math is right) maybe look in the "stock wheels and spacers thread" for a similar stance to see if you like it and if any of those guys had issues
Yes, the stock backspacing is 4.5" and +44mm offset. I have an FX4 and I believe they have flares that other trims do not, and I want a little bit of poke so I was wondering if I should go with the 20x9 +1mm @ 5" backspacing or 20x9 +20mm @5.75 backspacing. I have looked at countless 20x9 setups and the +1 and +20 all look similar to me, and some have flares and some don't, which is why I need someones opinion. I am very new to aftermarket wheels and need opinions before I spend 1000 on tires!!!

Another good option is to look at custom offsets. You can search by tire size, offset, suspension, etc. Gives you a good idea of what to expect. FX4's do come factory with flares, though they are very small. https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wh...l=F-150&page=1

I shorted it up a little... if I would have said you should be fine with the 285 but not the 285 you guys would complain about which one I meant.
I looked up the sizes on a calculator website and compared them to the stock size. 32x11 should fit. The 33x11 might not since hes 2wd. If he leveled, then both should clear.

I have actually spent a LOT of time on that website, it's just that they all look to stick out around the same to me, some say aggressive on +20, some say slightly, and then on +1 some say aggressive, and then some say slightly aggressive. Guess I gotta do some more homework

There are tire tools you can buy, it mounts to your hub and you set up the size and bs you want to run. It shows you with a rough estimate.
I've seen them on trucks or one of those other powerblock shows years ago.
It's a lot cheaper than buying rims and tires and guessing wrong.

In my own research, I would say that +1 or 0 offset would be considered slightly aggressive.Furthermore, a -12 would consider aggressive. I ended up with a -13 on my truck and added some Lund oem sport sx flares. They pretty much cover up the backs, but the fronts are still sticking out some.

Ordered -
American Racing AR914's 18x8.5 Rims - 5.34 Back Spacing +15mm Offset
Cooper STT Pro's 305/70/18
My Rims Arrived, Ordered the Tires I dropped off the Rims to get them mounted.
Returned a few days later to have them installed on the Truck.
Was told that they were the WRONG Bolt pattern. I checked and they were correct. Wrong Bolt Pattern...
I ordered The AR 914 in a 6x135mm, I have the Conformation Proving that I ordered the 6x135mm and it says 6x135mm.
Summit insists that I ordered the 6x139.7mm and thats what they sent. While they did send them in 6x139.7mm my paperwork shows 6x135mm.
They insist that since I ordered them I have to pay to return/replace them.
Rather tired of talking with them..
Question - I'll be reordering the Rims. Most likely NOT from them.
The Proper Rims for a F-150 are ...
American Racing AR 914 in a 18" x 8.5" with a Backspacing of 5.93" and a Offset of 30mm.
These will be Mounted on the Cooper STT Pro 305/70/18.
I'm currently Running Stock 22" Harley Rims with Nitto G2's in 285/55/22. I installed 2" Spacers to get the wheels out a little bit.
Will the AR 914's with 5.93" backspacing and 30mm offset stick out a bit or will they stick out TOO much.
I'm looking to have what I have now with the Spacers. I'll even add smaller spacers if need be I just don't want to STICK OUT more.
