Any hopes that there will ever be additions to existing model year LCD screens are for naught.

First, our trucks are built and sold. The will not invest ANY funding into updates that do not provide revenue, short of bug fixes that provide then-advertised functionality.

Second, any changes would add to support costs (training, manual updates/additions, etc...) further increasing costs the bean counters will never agree to.

Then there a the hundreds of thousands that would pile into dealers for the updates to the PCM.

It's just not gonna happen from ford folks.

The only way that LCD will ever see another screen or line of text is if a third party figures out how to do I.

I have a watch dog and it works great.

Is that from the new 4.3" productivity screen? I have a suspicion it's from a non-productivity screen model.

Yes it is. Hold the "OK" button on the steering wheel and start the truck. Productivity screen will go into "Engineering Mode". Hit "OK" to scroll through all the different readings you can browse.

It is the productivity screen. It's the engineering mode.

Holy Sh*t!!! That might be one of the coolest things I've seen this truck do. They sure don't advertise that! So it boots into engineering mode and gives access to all the PIDs (or many of them)!

I freaked when it did the gauge test - when they all zeroed out then maxed out. It was awesome to see the tach and speedometer pegged, even though the truck was stationary! And the screen colors test proves they can do a LOT with that "productivity screen" if they choose to. Since this mode gives access to the current ROM version number, it would be interesting to see what the software version numbers will be on the 2012 and compare the different features to the ROM version. It would also be interesting to see what the software versions look like on the Mustang (which I hear has more features that the F-150).

May I ask how you found out about this? Are there other key press combinations that step the computer into different modes?

Many thanks for sharing this information!

I sent an e-mail to the Bully Dog support, and below is what they say, which confirms your reply:

The Watchdog will work on your truck, it is universal and will pull any data available through the ECM and broadcast it on the screen. I would however recommend the GT Gas, the tuning and gauge features will be available very soon for this (currently in beta testing) and because of the custom tuning on this unit you will be able to view a lot more of the available gauges. This will also give you optional power increase. Here is a link to our website for this product: http://www.bullydog.com/product.php?ID=4
