I might be totally off base, but I know in the F-150 threads on re-gearing, guys with the 5.4 and 35s like the 4.10s. With a V10/37s I’d assume that around a 4.10 would be better than a 4.88. Then again, I don’t tow enough to know.
if it wasn't for the 37s they would definitely be too high. I could go with 4.56s but it'll never be a daily driver so I figured why not. It'll only add to the more fun factor while driving and add 250-300rpm while at highway speeds.

The truck will not be a daily driver and I don't think the jump will make that big of a difference in mileage.... after all is a V10 with 8 inches of lift on 37s.... so if I'm getting 10-12mpg I'll be more than happy. Plus it will pt less of a strain on it while tossing so it may end up helping the towing mileage.

I was thinking about how cool it would be to throw one of the new 7.3l gas engines in. Then I remembered this thread.
I wouldn't have the slightest clue as to how to workaround those wiring harnesses. I applaud your determination!

Easiest way to do that is buy a new 7.3 and drink until it rides like an F-150! 🤣🤣

I'm hopefully not going to jinx myself but it looks like I found the harnesses and PCM in Texas. In 4 weeks I should be coming home to the last of the harnesses I need to hear this pig finally run!

I officially hate this truck ALONG with everything that I thought it would ever be. I have to wait until Wednesday to order My harnesses sonim trying to move forward with the little things that I can do until then. I decided to work on the trim piece over my instrument cluster since I had all of the pieces to make it work. After getting it to the point I need to start welding the plastic (with a low heat soldering gun I apparently need to buy after doing some online research) I decided to start trying to get the navigation to work as a stand alone unit.... I then stumbled across something VERY irritating....

The Superduty smart junction box just plugs right into the 09 F150 dash harness.....

it ALSO appears that the lariat SD gauges have the same connector as the newer F150 gauges.

So now I'm trying to figure out if I can swap a few connectors and run the F150 dash harness (making the install of the new interior 1000% easier)

Luckilly I do know that neither generation had a BCM and both ran everything through a SJB so my current hope is that I can make this happen..... but i still need to be able to find the engine bay harness and that may be the future hang up.

The gauges do look good though. Should look factory once the plastic is welded and wrapped in leather.

Thanks! The plastic welding was a mild success

From bad news, to worse news to possibly great news! The truck has been sitting because the yard in Texas fell through on the wiring. I got soooooooo fed up that I finally decided to buy new. Went to the dealership and the wiring g harnesses are discontinued.... I was to the point I was going to buy one from Canada and deal with customs and figure out how to convert it from KPM to MPH... until I got a call from a yard in MN and they have a 09 that hasn't been dismantled yet! They are emailing me pics today to show me the truck so hopefully by next weekend I'll be putting the truck together!!
