This is what 2 dash harnesses laid over each other look like...... ugh...... now I just need the battery to charge so that I can see if anything turns on.
I hooked up my FORscan up to it and the PCM isn't connecting..... That would explain the gauges not turning on and the sound of the relays turning on. I've tried running down the grounds and checking fuses but no such luck yet.
Well I might have found out why my PCM isn't turning on. The only thing I was really going on to get this working is it all came out of the same truck and I have a picture of the gauges working in the donor vehicle. After diving into the dash harness I was sourcing what I didn't have attached to some of the connectors. One red flag came up with the circuit deactivation ignition module. The thing acts like it has a bad ground or blown fuse and after looking at the pin-out of the module it looks like it may be my problem. Here's to hoping I can find one in a junk yard tomorrow.
Seems like you're getting close to the first start. The Circuit Deactivation Ignition Module should be pretty easy to source from a salvage yard or even new.
Well after beating my head against a wall for ANOTHER night I was at a loss again. It just seems like the PCM isn't turning on. I've quadruple checked the grounds, the powers and the only fuse that is popping is for the trailer controller (I have the F-150 controller plunged in hoping it would work) and nothing is turning on. I even got the circuit deactivation ignition module in and plugged in. That was until about 5 minutes ago when I was double checking a few things and I noticed the wiring for the ignition switch is a little different. Wire 6 and Wire 7 between the F-150 and F-250 appear to be swapped and that is the ignition RUN terminal. If it wasn't late, if I didn't have to work tomorrow, and if I could get my brain to actually work enough to go out and swap the wire I would do it just to see if it would work.... but that will have to wait another night. My hate for the wiring on this truck is growing by the minute but if I could just see the gauges light up I'm sure that would give me the breath of fresh air I need to get it going.
This is how wired everything is as of tonight... I even have a radio plugged in!! All because it appears Ford swapped one freaking wire.... one freaking wire. Ford is a 4 letter F word tonight
Well if you guys are waiting for a good update I dont have one. Swapping to the SD ignition switch didn't do anything..... I hate this thing at the moment.
