I have to replace the fuel tank and the fuel sending unit.... a $500 fuel sending unit that I have to get at the dealership because no one at the part stores can look it up and there's about 10 different one to choose from. I'm really starting to hate this truck

Why do you have to replace the fuel tank?

I think the ports for the fuel lines are different. I'll be digging more into that today at work. The old sending unit has 4 lines coming out the top and the new one has two. At the least I'll have to swap all of the hard lines off of it.

Have you checked RockAuto to see what the price is?

The plan is to check after I see the PN at the dealership. They looked it up by the VIN so this should give me the info I need to order it.

Also the tanks are different. Luckilly I found one fairly cheap at lunch at a junkyard today.

This frustrating to read and can’t imagine the frustration it would be if I was doing it. I really want this to work out for you because it will be a really cool truck when you are done. Hang in there!

Damn you just can't catch a break with the wiring. Do you have the chassis harness out of a newer truck? I can't remember.

Well this might make sense why the fuel pump hasn't turned on yet. I'll have to look for that tonight.
