Meant to tell you this earlier, a Power Probe might be a useful tool for you since it will read frequency and pulse width among many other handy uses. They're much more convenient than a scope and don't have the risk of being dropped like a lap top.

You might find reading this helpful. This is short and understanding the nuance of it isn't important but getting an idea of how the CAN system works, especially for eliminating the wiring that was once required could be helpful. It's a good explanation of how getting the electronics to work doesn't necessarily mean the components in the truck will communicate with the electronics. Knowing what's going on is how you can get them to communicate. Couldn't get a link to a pdf to work so just do a search for this and it should come up on Atlantis-Press.

Design of Network Control System for Car Lights based on CAN Bus, Zheng Wei, Han Guangsheng

You've demonstrated your patience and tenacity so you'll get your truck to be what you intended. You're not going about this the easy way but there is nothing you want to do that can't be done. I'm logging out so good luck and you'll get this done.
That appears to be another "Project".

Sorry, wasn't meant to be. The link is nothing but a good explanation for those of us that learned old school automotive wiring. The CAN Bus network does away with a lot of wiring. It's not going to be there if someone goes looking for it. Low voltage CAN Bus circuits initiating relays is how most of the wiring works now. One of the many CAN Bus reference books available has a picture in it of all the wiring removed from a car changed over to a CAN Bus network. It's a big pile of wires.

Also as dumb as it sounds let's stop shooting eachother down. This freaking truck has enough negativity for me. I don't need to read about it in here.

Blue Oval, If you feel any of this is on me my apologies. It was never my intention and I'm encouraged with my own project because of your tenacity with yours.

It's no one in general. It seems like there has been a lot of bickering the last few days.

Blue Oval.

I hope you don't take this as negative. It's just a fact of life these days. I seem to remember you said you were in Oregon so I looked up Oregon DMV rules because of how much things have changed here in Michigan and most states in the last 20 years. Unfortunately I've seen a lot of people get burned by the state because they didn't know the rules and didn't prepare everything they needed to title, register and plate their vehicle.

Legally in Oregon you will need to prepare to apply for a new title called an assembled vehicle title. You will be required to have bills of sale and original VIN numbers for all the major components you have put in your truck. Here in Michigan before going to the Secretary of State, our DMV, the state police have to sign off on the vehicle. They ensure all the parts are legal, not from stolen vehicles, and that the car meets safety requirements. This may or may not include emission standards testing. This depends on the years of the vehicle and parts involved. Bottom line, you need to find out for the state your in if any of this is needed and as more time passes between you getting your parts and when you get back to your DMV the harder it will be to get this information. I've seen vehicles not get titled or licensed because the owner didn't have all the information needed and even when the vehicles did eventually get titled it took a lot of time and it was a PITA to get done.

I've also seen people with the opinion, "how would they know" and not do what was required. They got the vehicle registered and plated and then get in an accident or the vehicle gets stolen. Then the truth came out. The fines and penalties aren't cheap. $10 and $20 grand and more are not unusual. I also know one guy that can't get insurance anymore after he got caught with this a second time.

There are also funky rules here about vehicle parts that came from vehicles with scrap or salvaged titles. There are rules regarding being a licensed mechanic in the state and who can use parts from the vehicles. This is about who the state can ultimately apply liability to if something happens.

Really, I don't mean to be negative but some of these and maybe all or more may apply to you if you are in Oregon. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. I've learned about this the hard way and wouldn't wish it on anyone. The Ford Performance Control Pack PCM's don't have a VIN loading into them which is an anomaly to the rules.
