What about disconnecting the lines on top of the module, and with a small funnel, pouring some brake fluid in?
Honestly right now the brakes are on the back burner. The order of operation now is to pop the rear wheels off tonight and get the tires dismounted. The chrome is flaking and I'm planning on getting them powder coated a gun metal grey. After that I can get the TPMS sensors installed and the 37s mounted. After that I plan on finishishing the wiring in the doors, make the adapters for the handles and get the door panels installed. After that I'll be working on firing up the infotainment system and getting the seats working. After that it'll be the sunroof and rear glass. Once all of that is done and the interior is buttoned up I'll either figure the brakes out or take it to a shop and have it done.
The house project will be wrapped up today though and the weather is looking really good to lock myself into the shop. So here's to some more updates thos week!!
Here goes the weekend! Here's the list for getting this thing done! (This weekend being the pipe dream)
1. Wrap up the engine bay. Wire in the AC relay for the electric fan, look for a rogue ground, drill the hole in the cowl for the windshield wiper wires and wire the reverse lights to to the Aux 4 switch.
2. Finish wiring the doors and get the mirrors functioning.
3. Wire the seats.
4. Troubleshoot the stereo.
5. Make adapters for interior door handles and install door panels.
6. Wire subs and install rear seat.
7. Install E-brake and move truck to driveway.
8. Place on Jack stands and get 4 wheels removed for powdercoating, TPMS sensors and 37s!
Well here is to a hopefully more productive day. I can't seem to figure out why my front turn signals dont want to work. The wiring is the same from the 150 and 250, the grounds are good but they don't work. After that I jumped on Forscan and updated a few things (still not able to bleed the brakes with it) but the CEL light went off!!!
Most of the lights now are for things I already know. Seatbelts missing, passenger side airbag, and it wants to see the compass. The stereo won't turn on but I'm starting to wonder if it's because it isnt connected to the can bus. I'll be double checking the power to it today to confirm it at least has that in the right spots.
I also drilled a hole for the windshield wipers lol.
I once attempted to add Sync 3 to my 2013 STX never could get it to come on. It is VERY doubtful you will get a Sync system to ever work without a BCM. And yes it DEFINATELY needs the can bus connections. That was once of the things I thought was so cool bout my 2013 when I DID do a Sync 1 add from a truck that did not have sync at all I added it. It was pretty much add the compass, the module, the module needed like 4 wires to the radio, the 2 can bus wires, 2 more the high speed for diagnostic, or vice versa. And microphone and power. that was pretty well it. going from no Sync to Sync one. I now no longer have that in favor of an aftermarket unit. IF you figure that part out LET US KNOW!!!!!!!! but I doubt it will work largley in part because you do not have a BCM system.
The F-150s didnt get a BCM until 2011 so I'm hoping to be able to get this fired up this weekend. I'm hoping to check power to the proper pins and connect to the CAN bus and see what happens. Since that's what controls the heater I'm really hoping I can get it to work. If not I'll be fabbimg a custom center console to accept the F-250 heater controls amd mounting a double din player.
Sorry for the lack of updates. Work has been busy and I didn't know starting a business could take up SO MUCH TIME!! I now have 37s and a gooseneck hitch that will go in once the truck is done. Working on finishing the doors and windows now.
