Oh more boring updates. I now have all 4 windows working but for some reason the doors only want to lock..... so there is that.
The only thing holding me up from finishing the door wiring is waiting for terminal ends for the harness I'll make to splice the mirrors together as I dont want to make one out of 40 butt connectors.
I think I figured out why the nav wont turn on as there is a power wire not turning on. Hopefully I can get that figured out in the next few nights.
I also have to take the windshield wiper mechanism out at some point to modify the passenger side arm as it now hits the cowl that was "massaged" to clear the throttle body. I found this when I was working on the doors and accidentally turned on the wipers (that had remained unplugged until Friday). The panic of hearing a rhythmic knocking noise from the engine bay almost sent me into cardiac arrest.
Hopefully there is more to follow this week as I leave for Vegas on Sunday.

Thanks. I have to be at this point. I can't afford not to finish it. I honestly wish I could because it's a struggle to go out and continue to finish the living nightmare that the wiring turned into.

When you do, use ForScan and there is a procedure in there under the wrench Icon it says something about calibrate new modules or something like that. I took that same Sync3 module put it in my wife's 2013 Explorer which had Sync 2, her vehicle had a lot of stuff the donor vehicle didn't. Once I set it up the options came up on the screen right but would not function. Like the heated or cooled driver's seat and the heated and cooled passenger seat, the heated steering wheel, the rear AC controls which meant they would not work AT ALL. once I ran that procedure they all sort of woke up and spoke to each other. There were like 10 errors and it said it did not complete correctly but let me tell you IT DID and found all the other moduels the APIM talks to. so it is worth a try. I could not get it to do more than just show up but then maybe it is because I didn't do that procedure. Not sure what wakes up the APIM if it is the Can bus or something else.

I have officially hit my wits end with this stupid navigation/infotainment system in this interior. I'm done! It's old, archaic and not worth the MONTHS of time that I've spent trying to get it to work again. I do think that I've figured out a better solution though that I will be much happier with. The good thing is that now that I've figured out a different solution I can work on plugging in the power wires to the SD dash, abandon the F-150 dash wiring and move forward with finishing this interior!!

Sometimes the aftermarket is the way to go. You will have everything working! I did that in my '09 with a Power Acoustik double-din radio with bluetooth, GPS, USB, MicroSD, CD, DVD, Backup Cam, AM-FM etc. All for $139. I must admit that my '09 is an Expedition, not an F150. But basically, it's the same truck!
