I'll let the 5R110 die before I do that. I need a gear swap before I need another gear. Plus this thing only has 57K on it.... but if it dies someday before I am done with it I definitely will!

Let's just say the 2nd trip in the V10 didn't go as planned. One thing that is really hard about these kinds of projects is planning and expecting stuff to break/need fixed. I want this thing to be done but I knew there would be bugs to work out..... like rushing to get it on the road because you needed your truck and gooseneck to go grab something for your shop...... and not noticing you forgot to put a hose clamp on the coolant tank tube next to the block.....

On a positive note I seemed to have found out why it was running hot!

Well that was definitely the issue. I've put a few miles on it and it holds steady on these temps. It drives AWESOME until 2nd gear and then it's reminded of the gears. I'll do a video soon to show it, but it definitely needs gears and with how short 1st gear is I'm starting to think of swapping it to 4.56s and not 4.88s. There's going to be some radio silence again as I'm having some issues finding somewhere to finish my door panels and I'm busy with work right now. Just know that this thing runs and sounds AWESOME!! I still wouldn't recommend the swap, but since we've gone this far I'm going to enjoy it! Next step in this build thread is to get it to drive as good as it sounds.

I haven't got the chance to dive into the engine but it feels hurt. I had to move my trailer last night and it didn't start as good as it used to and ran a bit rough for li like 10 seconds.

After doing some math with measurements of the F-150 and the V10 F-250 it looks like my radiator is too small. I was a bit worried about this and now I just have to upgrade. I can't afford a 1off custom radiator but think I found a DIY radiator that is VERY close to the F-150 radiator size, but 3 cores instead of 1! I'll also have aluminum tanks and will be able to mount my coolant temp sensors (for the electric fans) directly to the radiator and not inline with the lower radiator hose.
