I have a long list of last things to get from the wrecking yard tomorrow. Just a lot of odd things that really need to make a lot of the small things functional.
The rest of the weekend will be spent getting the door panels as close to done as possible. the fake leather on the arm rest isn't able to be molded to the shortened panel and is at the interior shop getting new leather put on. I also need to work on extending the A and B pillar trim pieces to get the trim to match the headliner.
This truck is definitely going to end up being a long term/drive it at the same time project. My future plans are to look into welding together 2 sets of the navigator 4v heads to try make a 40v V10 engine, adding a 2.9 Whipple, Sterling 10.5 rear axle along with trying to put 08-10 Dana 60 unit bearings/brakes on the factory IFS knuckles. I also want to try taking an 04 HP Dana 60 (because the older ones are so much cheaper than the 05+) and make it a 1 ton while keeping the IFS. Also planning on doing a 12th gen swap to the front end and building winch bumpers front and rear for it.
I hope that you guys stay along for the progress. Soon most of this will get documented on YouTube as well. Life has been CRAZY busy, and although I haven't got to video a lot of the little things (mainly because I'm learning as I go) I definitely want to give it a shot. Lord knows I've wasted a lot more time watching far less interesting projects than this has turned out to be, so who knows?
I'll try to get a driving video uploaded this weekend. Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, it's already a hugely ambitious project, adding that list of equally ambitious stuff will still be entertaining, keep posting!

Reminds me of myself back in 1971. I put a '57 283 CID V8 with transmission and a '55 Chevy car rear end in my '54 Chevy pickup. All the adapting. It was really good at tearing out ring & pinion gears. Think I went thru 3 or 4 sets.

Sorry I wasn't able to get a video up of the truck. Now that I'm not looking at the coolant gauge waiting for it to start over heating I noticed that it has a HORRIBLE exhaust leak. Hoping to get that fixed here soon. I also have learned that it has a lot of drone inside the cab. I've ordered a new muffler (breaks my heart since this thing sounds SO GOOD from the outside, but the drone is too much to live with.
On some good news though the new radiator is doing a great job with the engine! I've got the electric fans set up to kick on at different temps and so far driving around I've only heard one kick on, and that's when I'm driving around town. It seems to be off when I'm on the freeway. Hoping that it works good enough while towing to save me from spending $1500 on a custom radiator.
Also trying to hunt down the remaining small bits and pieces to finish the odds and ends. This week I've been trying to get my door panels and trim pieces finished. The big ticket items that I'm wanting to get done right now are the door panels. I'm really tired of not being able to do just shut my door normally and having to pick up the window switches. I also need to find out a way to get the door locks to work. This may not be possible as it seems that the SJB needs to hold the signal a bit longer to get the locks to work. Not sure if that is something that can be programed or not.
I'm also going to try getting the AC codes to go away and get my HVAC system functional. It's cold here in Oregon, and once that is done I can button up the last of the dash.
Once again sorry I couldn't get the video up, but I'm hopeful for some good progress this weekend. Benefits of working 3 12s is I can usually get a lot done on my weekends!

ON THE ROAD AGAIN! JUST COULDN'T WAIT TO GET IT BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
It's just a quick trip around the block, but the exhaust leak is fixed, The drone is still there but will get better once the new muffler is back on, and I'm finally getting ya'll the video I've promised to you weeks ago.
