the front emblem on my 05 XLT is mint... but the one on my 07 Harley was really bad...
instead of replacing it I decided to completely remove all the clear/paint and now the emblem is completely billet/chrome looking... i didn't even remove the emblem off the grille, my father had these heavy duty graffiti wipes/towels and it literally wiped everything off...
now the truck has a custom look and it basically costed us nothing...
just wanted to share incase anyone was looking for a 'free' solution.
cheers

Both of mine were peeling... truck isn't even 2 years old. I just got a Carriage works aluminum billet grill to replace my chrome H-bar, and I didn't even bother with swapping ovals. I was going to get a Roush grill, but I guess they've stopped making their plastic ones?
If you guys get replacement ovals, what are the chances you will have to change it again?

Seems like the newer emblems don't last very well, i have a friend that has an 06 and his emblem is trashed but my 03 emblem has been on three different grills and it still looks great real shame ford went cheap on the oval

An infamous issue with these trucks. Personally, I won't pay (more) to advertise for the company who built my truck. If they would like the truck they built to have snappy/quality advertising logos, why don't they provide same? I would have thought by now there would be a bin in every dealership with free replacement front Ford ovals. It's only cosmetic, but it is THEIR reputation, after all. At least my '06 paint isn't peeling off the entire cab like my previous ('92) F-150. I've seen that on all makes though...
