It's a 2007 thing. Mine have gone bad too. Just got them replaced. My front emblem was turning white it was so faded.

Well, I'll go ahead and pile on. Mine is a 2006. I had to run by my dad's house, his truck is a 1997, you tell me which one is in better shape.

Sorry about the picture quality btw, I just took these tonight, with my phone.

Patience my friend. Both my front and back look like crap. Took awhile, but I eventually got a nice, not perfect, but very nice used one for $1.00 plus $5.50 shipping. Seeing what these have been bid up to I'm sure I was going to lose out, but I was the only bidder.

But here's my dilemma, previous owner put one of those chrome overlays over the grill, locking my emblem in place.

it's still no excuse - things like that should be able to withstand everything the rest of a vehicle has to go through....Ford really dropped the ball on that one!
I know it's just an emblem, but it begs the question of what else has the same lack of quality, not only on trucks, but all of Ford...

My girlfriends dad actually works for a company called flex n gate and they make a lot of bumpers and running boards for ford and various other parts for other companies. But long story short he has an 06 f150 and had a trashed emblem so he asked the ford rep about it ,and they actually switched manufactures of the emblems in 06 and realized there was a problem and switched back to the original company in 08

I'm not making excuses, remember mine has to be replaced too. Just trying to give some input so others can avoid early degradation of theirs.

I know - it wasn't directed to you personally - more of a rant on the emblem...

I've got a 07 with the same problem... Josh at tasca parts hooked me up with some replacements at a great deal... I've replaced the emblem on the grille but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the one from the tailgaite? Any tips?
