I refinished my billet grille and outer shell. Used a heavier duty black, dupi-color oxford white, and several coats of non yellowing, uv resistant clearcoat. Then a good wet sand and buff. Hard to tell how much better it is in the pics, but here it is.

Before.

After.

I had it towed to the shop this morning. Someone decided her sunglasses were more important than my bed this past Friday...

It's bent around the shackles. I'm hoping it can be fixed, as this truck belonged to my mom before she died.

After dealing with battery issues for the past couple weeks, I finally made the trip to Costco to replace the battery. Turns out it was still under warranty and was a free replacement!

Aside from that, I picked up some new windshield wipers ($8.99/each on sale) since the monsoon weather is starting to roll in to the Phoenix area, finally took some photos of the finished build from my XLT -> Lariat conversion, and replaced the stock air intake with the Gotts "EZ" mod (3" Spectre air duct). It actually opened up a lot of space over there, so I'm thinking about trying to fit a second battery in that space.

What is the purpose of the ribbed portion of the air duct Can the whole unit be replaced without going to a cold air setup?

You mean the spectre duct that is colored in red? That is a GOTTS mod. It bypasses the 3" to 2" reduction coupler that exists there already, making it a direct 3" duct all the way to the intake muffler (the big part with the baffles). Since our trucks basically already have a cold air intake (our intake is in our fender), this just opens it up to help reduce air turbulence.
