I do agree. but, and while I certainly do not recommend it for a professional or even high quality job, I've gotten away with a LOT of lax sanding for chrome. lmao. it's not as hard as people say it is

but once again...you want a truly great job, yes get rid of it

I think you'll like it better with a paint matched surround, but that's up to you. Plastic needs plastic primer or adhesion promoter, and lots of sanding in order to get it to stick, so I'd bet that was it.

Make sure you get one of the new style 3-piece emblems that can be disassembled down to the blue part and the chrome rings. Super easy to paint match! My buddy just did one and I'm gonna do one soon. The white one is a "prototype" I did a few months ago with the old style and looks like crap up close haha.

It looks good I just did vinyl overlays on mine looks like crap standing next to it but step 2 feet back and it looks alright

Finished the cam phasers and put my bumper on, still got to install the fog lights and trim some stuff. Damn bambi did bend my bumper mounts so its off a little bit but oh well good enough might hook it to a tree lmao

Well, I got my new truck Saturday but I finally got her cleaned up and took some pics! 2008 FX2 Sport! Love it and hopefully I'll get some small mods done pretty soon. Here are some pics
