Just a dumb random question. Is it absolutely necessary to disconnect the battery to clean the throttle body and maf sensor? Truck runs fine just want to clean them as routine maintenance.

Not necessary at all. I don't do it and my trucks always run much better afterwards, even though they seemed to run just fine before.

I've heard it doesn't hurt to disconnect it after the job to reset the computer so it learns to operate with a clean maf from a fresh start or whatever. But I've also heard that can do more harm than good. :/

I know I get great results leaving the battery connected, so I'll probably stick with that.

Removed this, I broke the outer lens.

Replaced old tailgate handle with this upgraded camera.

Added the backup sensors, This is a little different on a 2006 as the bumper is not the same as the newer trucks, 2006 only has a hole in the metal behind the black plastic, it's not open like the newer trucks...

I ran a few extra wires so I can still use the camera with a switch and also as a backup camera when I put the truck into reverse. With the use of a diode in line the backup lights will not come on when the camera is switched on, so I can see the utility tailor and load as I'm driving down the road.

Drop into reverse the readout shows the distance and when you get about a foot away it tells you to stop.
I am very happy with the way it all turned out, adding the diode made a big difference to me, I want the use of the camera while driving and don't want the backup lights on while doing so.

I have a spare grille emblem for my truck. It's off a super duty. I'm looking to paint it, I want to paint the oval white and the word ford tan, what is the best way of going about it? The emblem looks as if it's a solid emblem not one that will come apart as I've seen pictures of online

Little project, see how it turns out. I sprayed the whole emblem with air craft stripper. Made easy work of the clear and blue. Then used a red scuff pad to sand it down. Gonna primer it and paint it white with tan lettering
