That's probably how they got the shape cut (standard process is to cut it attached to the outside then attach it to the inside).

Thanks, man! If I had my druthers I would've done 20% to match my back windows. But I don't feel like breaking the law and having to remove the tint.

I have had illegal tint in Kansas (35 is legal, always do 20) for over 20 years. Never a single tint ticket. Just dont drive like a jack*** and you will be fine.
