Makes perfect sense to me...just don't break the retainer clip on the harness.

I'm not sure if they all come with the cover but mine did and it was a pain as there isn't enough room for both..I cut the cover off and made a bracket to fit it in case I needed it..it turned out that my stock ones were good so now this one is a spare.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that this works...I have been there and done that and it is a real good feeling when it all works again....

When they were hooked up and you put it in 4 wheel drive, did the actuator shaft on the top of the front diff move to it's full length or at all?

I can't recall if mine did that, it has been too long unfortunately (or fortunately for me I guess).

These units provide vacuum to the actuator to make it move and engage the front shifter fork in the front diff...If they are doing their job, this means the actuator is toast (which is common).

Mine is doing this as well, its my first electric r4x4 and I was always leary of this junk atleast on some old truck. I prefer the manual stuff and dont need to lights. Im just going to go to the Posi-Lok manual control actuator with a pull handle under the dash. $150 and piece of mind not to rely on solenoids, vacuum lines and the related junk.
