I have a 1997 ford f150 truck and I am having a bad problem with it skipping real bad going up any kind of incline. I have put it on 2 different computers and it will not pop up any codes. We have done a fuel pressure check and it was fine. I have checked all of the vacuum hose, I have changed the fuel filter, and the spark plug. I have 207000 miles on this truck. At 100000 I had to have a new coil pack put on the truck. At about 7000 miles ago I put new plug and wire on the truck. I just do not know what else to do. Please let me know what kind of suggestions that you have.

A little while ago my 97 4.6 did the same thing. Took it out for a good hard drive and it sent a misfire code. Plugs and wires had about 12k miles. Pulled the plug and it looked fine. Turns out I had a bad wire. Replaced plugs and wires and it's been good. They were autolite wires.

I went through a series of misfire problems with my 98 4.6 that were all related to dirt, oil, grease, and water in my plug sockets. I fixed it by taking out the plugs and cleaning the plug sockets with a round wire brush and WD40. I also changed out the heater hoses as they had a very small leak where they plug into the heater core. I could tell because they were damp and the plastic quick disconnect on the hose was broken so they did not stay tight. After I put it all back together it smoked a little because that WD40 and dirt I didn't get out with rags got in the cylinders. After running a little ruff at first, it has been fine and now runs like a new truck.
