Hey Guys,
Another ABS light question (sorry).
I got my ABS light on about 2 weeks ago and researched likely causes, I am told the ABS does a rolling test on the system... However my ABS light comes on and stays on as soon as the truck is cranked over (no rolling).
I figured first (and cheapest) thing to replace was the rear sensor... this hasn't knocked it off, but I am wondering what else it could, be... front sensors yes but it's not doing a rolling test..... so I am wondering why it would come on immediately???
Could it be a fuse?
Any help appreciated, I am thinking about selling the truck not ploughing cash into it!!! Haha
Thanks in advance!

The first thing you should check is to make sure your brakes are operating properly where you don't have a bad caliper that is hanging up. Does the brake fluid have a lot of rust in it? and do you periodically flush the brake lines? If this is good, check the wiring for damage where it hooks up to the speed sensors and also the ABS control module. Dirt and grease at the connections could be causing a bad connections so clean these as necessary. Also, check the fuse for the ABS. Refer to your owners manual for the fuse location. Check all of your ABS sensors not just one at the rear.
Think about what you were doing before the light came on. Was it something that could have done damage to the wiring? Were you working on your truck under the hood near the brake master cylinder or in the dash board? If it was just normal driving, I am thinking that it is a problem with your brakes, a sensor, or the wiring at the sensor connection.

Thanks for the quick reply.
It came on during normal driving, I haven't been under the hood for over a month, brakes are all working normally, no pulling or binding, plenty of brake fluid and it looks relatively clean.
I'll check the front two sensors and the wiring for damage, and I will check the fuses as well.
Thanks!
