I've traced my fuel system from the pump to the fuel pressure regulator on my 4.2L F150 XL. I'm suspecting it's an electrical issue but I don't have a clue where to start checking aside from fuses and relays, i apologize if this is vague and in the wrong place to be posted, I'm at work and have a busy day ahead of me, I'll log back in later so i can hopefully give more helpful information.

Is the pump coming on for a couple of seconds or so when you turn on the key?

You need to :
-Do a fuel pressure test.
-Check for spark.

Give some history of the vehicle before the problem. Could be anything from an auction flood vehicle to one that you bought brand new.
