That looks like good stuff! Haven't seen it. You can use that on processors? Must have cooling properties. Yea, it must be good. Is it white in color? I use stuff like that for heat sinks, Silicone heat transfer compound. Processors I use a high density polosynthetic thermal compound.

Is that my truck in the background? Looks great!

The story on using it on the processor is that I opened the cabinet to diagnose an unrelated issue, and saw that the processor fan was dangling by the wires. The only thing that it had holding it on the processor was paste. I told the IT guy to get some thermal paste, but after waiting for a couple days I got tired of waiting. Both me and my Boss have electronic experience, and we thought it was worth a shot. So far so good.

LOL, yeah that does appear to be your handsome truck in the BG.

You probably saved that processors life life!

Yea, I only get to look at that truck up close for the moment. I have the new metal for it where it needs it up in the rafters. Have a few other projects to finish before replacing the body parts and giving here 5 or 6 coats of new paint.

Hi, new here. I did my intro last week. Anyway I didn't need to post for my issue because I found this post on a search. So, what I have is a '97 F150 XLT that a co-worker gave me. And it does the same weird things as others have described. Mainly when it is raining or high humidity. So, after reading this thread I see I need to remove the fuse block and GEM and replace the GEM. And it is said I need to find a GEM with the same options as my F150. Okay, is there a cross reference somewhere for this?

The truck ain't perfect but heck it runs good shifts good decent tires, so it would be worth it to me to get it running proper.

Thanx Later. Pepse.

No you need to 1 find the leak and fix it. 2 take your gem out and dry it in a box of rice. Put it back together , AFTER finding the leak and sealing it. THEN if you still have problems you'll need to replace the GEM.

Your issues are caused by the GEM getting wet, if you put a new one in without fixing the leak and verifying the original is bad, then you're just wasting money

Okay, I did understand from the thread 1)that I need to find the leak and fix it 2) dry off the GEM and hopefully it is still good. I was just skipping ahead in case the GEM is bad.

Later. Pepse.

I have had the nickname Pepse. Since I was about 8 or 9. It was suppose to belittle me. The name was given to me by some older boys in this town we had moved to. My last name is Sekola hence Pepsekola. I have spelled it that way since I was around 10 or 11. My last name is suppose to be pronounced Sekulwa. Anyway there you have it in Living Color. Hah.
Funny responses tho.

Later. Pepse.
