Default Front Bumper Removal

Can anyone tell me how to take the whole front bumper assembly off? I'm planning on repainting it Wednesday

If I remember correctly there are just 2 bots on each frame mount. That would be it. And disconnect the fog lights if you have them. What you painting them?

I'm just taking the plastidip off and repainting the valence and bumper pad semi gloss black. But would it be easier to take the bumper off or just tape off

It's just two bolt and removing it would make it a lot easier to paint.

Not to hijack this thread, but I have a similar question. How hard is it to remove just the valance?

The easier way to get the bumper assy off is four bolts per side. I had a lift and they were the easiest to get to. 14 or 15mm I believe.

The valance can be a huge pain, there is like 20 little bolts that hold it to the chrome center section. The bolts on the two bumpers i have done were almost all rusted fast an I ended up breaking nearly all. I ended up using zip ties to hold it together but I think I will rivet it when I have some extra time. In the end you will be better off to remove the whole bumper and deal with it more comfortably on a bench.

K, thanks guys. I'll probably take the whole bumper off and just tape off the valance to paint it.
