Nooo! That's not easier! It's a bitch to get straight again! Leave the mounts on the bumper and take the mounts off

They are directly in line with the frame, 2 on the outside and 2 on the inside of the frame on each side

As long as you havent hit anything there wont be any issues lining it back up

It is kind of a pain to line it back up. The bumper weights a good amount considering it's all metal. You need two people, one to hold and one to line up the bolts. And they aren't in the easiest spot to get to with a ratchet either. But it is 8 bolts to remove the bumper.

I thought we were talking about the front bumper, i've had 10 oz steaks that weigh more then that piece of tin foil, the back bumper requires 2 people but the front bumper isnt that bad

I didnt have any trouble taking mine completely off. I even took all the pieces apart from each other when I painted the lower valance. Made it a lot easier rather than taking it all off and such. I was able to line it up after easily too.

Not only did I take mine off, but I put an Expedition bumper that had the fogs on - singlehandedly. 4 nuts per side ('97-'98). You CAN lift it yourself and tighten down the nuts, but I used a bucket of drywall mud that was the proper height to hold it in place. Once the bumper is off, it is easier to remove the valence - just spray the nuts/bolts with PB Blaster first!
