I have debated about calling the P.O. of my truck.. Found some of his business cards in center console.
I clicked on this thread hoping to see a consensus about whether it would be generally acceptable to give him a call.
I don't want to bug the guy, but it would be nice to know if he had anything done/why he traded it in.
someone should do a poll on this. Im not really sure how.

I'm curious about mine as well. I am the 3rd owner of the truck. First owner only had it for a year, and the second owned it up until trading it in at the dealer I bought it from. I'd like to know what he did to it over the years. The carfax only tells you so much.

When I bought my truck last month, I asked the sales guy for the (2) previous owner's names. Sales guy said due to privacy laws/rules, he couldn't release their names...

Sold my lifted jeep to a guy about a year ago. He did call me a few weeks later to ask a couple troubleshooting questions. I was glad to help him solve the problem based on a very long list of maintenance and upgrades I had already performed. Havent heard from him since. That jeep was kind of a money pit so im sure there have been problems since but thankfully those are his problems now and he has obviously treated them as such.
I think its fine to contact the individual if u already dealt with them within a reasonable amount of time...maybe a month at most...idk just depends on how yall got along. but asking a dealer for po info I would say no to as well
Best thing every owner can do is keep our maintenance records and receipts in the glove box for the next owner and be bit more forthcoming during the art of the deal.

I have contacted POs by mail or email usually by info that I have found in the car. I would include my contact info giving them the option of calling, writing, or not. Some people never want to here about a vehicle again once they sell it, but most do answer.
