I need a little input on mpgs. i drive an 01 screw 2wd 5.4, and i feel like my mpgs arent good enough and they definently arent up to epa estimates. city i get around 11-14 mpg one time i got 19 amazingly. highway ranges from 19 to 20 best i ever got was 23 mpg. my truck has all new plugs, a few new coils, new fuel filter, k&n with gotts mod, flowmaster exhaust. and mind you this is me driving feather footed. just want to know what yall are getting with similar trucks? thanks for the input in advance

Sounds right on. City driving kills any heavy vehicle, you waste so much fuel pushing it up to speed just to waste it by braking almost immediately afterwards.

X2 02 screw here but 4x4 and I get what you get or a little worse now that its winter. Do an e-fan mod it will help a little more but I think you pretty close to good as it gets with a 5.4.

I thought 18 mpg highway was good in my 5.4 scab 4x4. I get 12 in the city.

I went from 12.1 to 13 even with e fan. Spent 50 on full set up just got fans out of a winser van. Slight modding needed. Also a e fan relay kit from autozone. 25 dollars.
A e fan Basically takes fan load off the engine. A clutch fan (what your truck has) bolts to the motor at the water pump and spins off the power of the motor. It robs power and mpg because of drag. I took mine off for now because my battery is a cheap as heck battery and to much load for the battery to handle. Once I redo charging system it is going back on

I'm currently averaging 16/20 in a 5.4 2wd. Efan swap netted me a 3.1mpg increase.

E fan takes out the need for the fan clutch relieving a lot of stress from the engine. Helps gas mileage some. And you could piece together your own kit for a few hundred bucks our buy a full kit for around 500-600
