Kind of an odd question

So I'll be the first to admit I don't really know my way around a wrench all that well, I know the basics and a little bit more but that's it, I guess what I'm wondering is what can I do to boost the performance of my truck, like I bought an aftermarket intake to improve air flow, things like that, steering stabilizers stuff like that that isn't huge but helps in the long run.

There's an article about this very subject in the 4wheelparts magazine I just got in the mail. They say the big three bolt ons are tuner exhaust and cai in that order I believe. I know they said tuner first ( best bang for the buck )

When you say performance I am assuming that your mean the horsepower/speed/acceleration of the engine etc. and not just making a standard engine run better and last longer. That being the case, there are a lot of parts available that offer claims of improved performance. However, I have found that the improvement is minimal. A new exhaust system, for example, would offer less exhaust restriction and therefore, more horse power. The same with a K & N air filter. However, neither mod is going to make all that big of a change in your acceleration.
I am of the opinion that you should just keep your truck properly maintained and running smoothly. Things that were suggested by the guys above will keep your truck running great and prevent expensive repairs at a later date. If you want to improve performance, you should buy a high performance motor.
Back in my youth I owned a 1959 Chevrolet with a 283 V8 engine and a standard three speed transmission. My buddy Steve got a 1966 Pontiac GTO for graduation and challenged me to a race where he proceed to blow the doors off my Chevrolet. I decided that I was going to fix his wagon so I went out and bought a set of Corvette heads, intake manifold with 4 barrel carburetor, and a Corvette solid lifter cam shaft and lifters. I also picked up a 4 speed manual transmission. Although it ran better and I had noticeable better power, he still blew the doors off my Chevy. I couldn't change the fact that I still had a 283 V8 with low compression pistons trying to compete with a 389 high compression Pontiac V8 engine.
