Default which motor oil do i use?

my truck didnt come with the owners manual so im not sure which motor oil to buy.

i have a 98 f150 4.6 v8 with 121,xxx miles on it.

so what oil does my truck use?

why semi synthetic and not 100% synthetic or regular oil?

Just because that's what Ford recommends and puts in the bottle. Nothing wrong with a full synthetic if you choose to go that way.

6qts of 5W-20.

Full snthetic is meant more for higher mileage oil changes or even just changing your oil once a year. You would still change the filter every 3k but jst top off the oil and keep on truckin. So if you're looking for oil to do regular oil changes I don't recommend spending the extra money on the full synthetic. A synthetic blend will be fine for what you need.

Now ford recomends 5w-30 for the older 4.6 liter. If you do not believe me read your owners manual. As for synthetic vs semi synthetic. More or less personal preference, and budget. There are multiple links here.

Then what is the over all consensus of preferred oil filters and oil??
Just baught '05 STX two weeks ago... want to keep her in great working order!!!
