Need some more power
I have a 4.6 Triton V8 in my 2001 F150 and want to know of some good performance mods i can do to my truck thats not going to empty my bank account. This is my first Ford and i know what might have worked on my old 5.2 dakota wont work on this F150

i tend to think most power adders these days are scams or at best case scenario false or exagerated claims.
things like cai, exhaust, headers, throttle body spacers, got mod, are gonna net you very little and possibly make things worse.
cams, ported or upgraded heads, superchargers, stroker kits are much more likely to net you serious gains but even they have to be backed up with a proper custom tune and dyno proved.
now if you already did a supercharger install or cams with heads and or a stroker kit THEN a cai, exhaust system, headers are much more likely to be of some real use.
ive tried gott mods, kn intakes, exhaust systems, edge programmers...NONE of them seem to make any butt dyno difference to me and i actually think most of them made things worse by sacrificing significant amts of bottom end tq for miniscule or non existant upper rpm hp gains

Street Queen in the Mud
I would start with a full tune up, its much easier to regain lost power than add power that wasn't there originally. Past that, programmer will probably give you the biggest bang for your buck.

Why do you need "more power"? What do you do that you feel it is lacking? I don't understand why people who use a truck for a DD always need more power.
It's you're money, spend it how you like. Personally I have done the gotts mod and have a programmer. Everything else is just maintenance. I can't begin to think of tossing money at it when the stock parts are not as good as they could be (replacing all fluids and filters, upgrading brake lines, replacing worn out suspension components).
