Guy before me went into a ditch... Messed the front up. He replaced axles and both front shocks and still didn't fix the prob (steering wheel is turned halfway when tires are straight and steering is a little loose). I have to check control arms, inner and outer tie rods, center link, probably gear box. After thats all done i will get an alignment. Truck also has small radiator fluid leak coming from rear of engine and I think the A/C also has a leak. Two tires are brand new (315/75/16) and front two are bad. Im gonna trade the two new ones in a downsize to 4 (285/75/16). Truck has a 3-4 inch lift, a superchip, throttle body spacer, cold air intake with k&n filter, and was recently tuned up. BUT, before anything it will be put on a lift to see if the frame is ok.

Also, up until 3 years ago the truck was in Arizona so there is no rust.

here is a pic of the front and pics of underneath cause im trying to figure out what type of lift it has.

I'd say no matter what it's well worth what you paid

thanks, any thoughts on what type of lift it is? Im not too versed in that area... some brand of red shocks in the front and trailmaster ss shocks in the back.

Looks like a body lift to me, but pics might be a little deceiving

It does have a lift.

Looks like an old trail master lift. The longer knuckles and front shocks, rear trail master shocks(came with the lift as they look wore out) and lack of an extreme cv axle angle is what gives it away.

As for the rear, looks like a add a leaf and could use a slightly taller block to get the back up to where the front is.

Someone said "looks like a body lift to me" ....what brings you to that conclusion? Lol
There's no body lift on this truck.

For $1100 for a 2001 5.4l? That's a good deal, even with the damage. As long as the frame ain't frigged up and you're mechanically inclined, I'm sure you'll get that rig back into action without much trouble.

Thanks to everyone for all the responses. Going under the truck today for a thorough inspection. My buddy has a collision shop and has a laser frame machine. He has a truck on the machine hes working on now, but I can get mine up there soon. Were just gonna really check it out as best as we can and for now and figure out what could be wrong. I suspect its the gearbox cause the wheel is turned way off when the truck drives straight. Also the steering is pretty loose. The Tie rods and center link dont look bad and the controls arms look ok too. The frame in the front is all jacked up where the tow hook attaches, hopefully its only damaged in front of the wheel. Wont know until i can get it on the machine...

7700SCREW hit the nail on the head with the lift analysis. When the truck is all fixed, maybe new rear shocks will lift it a little or just find a little taller of a block like he said.

Yes, I can probably do most of the work myself with a little help from you guys.

So, we'll see... I'll update as soon as i can.
