If I was expecting to get stuck a lot, or at least helping people get un-stuck on a regular basis, I would definetly invest in a winch. Otherwise you will for sure need a good two rope, a shovle, some sort of saw (to cut branches) and some sort of jack. Ideally you'll want a high lift jack ($40 bucks at harbor freight) a good ****** rope, D-rings, a chain saw, a good shovel, and an axe. I'd probably throw some gloves in there as well for safe measure. Also, if a winch is out of the question get a couple of decent ****** blocks and a hand powered come along. One rated for at least 6-8k. At the very least you can use that to get out.

Also, you NEED two good recovery pouints front and back. The stock recovery hooks up front are good, I would definetly put those back on. For me I have a hitch in the back that is welded to the frame, so that is a good recovery point for me.

Maybe I'll look into a winch. The 12k one was $399 so I can't imagine an 8k or 10k would be too terrible..

Edit; $279 for a 9k winch..

Check out the bubba tow strap. Your hitch will love you for it, I have two D rings for the two nylon tow straps and now a D ring receiver since last year I wasn't too happy putting the straps on the ball hitch.

And don't forget about a winch damper incase the winch or tow strap lets go.

Yeah they are but it's less stress on the vehicles and I've heard good things about them too. I plan on getting one for the winter since I normally get nominated to pull my work vans out of the snow.

They're good all year round lol. I haven't had my truck off road too much and these would be even better for the mud since it likes to suck you in.
