There are a couple of different brands of kinetic ropes like the bubba rope that are available. There are also several different types of ****** straps. (check ARB) In either case make sure they are rated for your vehicle and the vehicle you intend to pull out. Also, make sure the bow shackles that you purchase have a high working load rate. (check of VanBeest) (do not drop a strap over a ball hitch)
Do not use a tow rope or tow strap for recovery, they are intended for towing. Do not use straps that have metal hooks on them. They become lethal weapons when things break.
There are several videos online regarding proper and safe methods of recovery.
Google recovery gear and the results will get you started.

Just a chain and a hook on the hitch.

Chains are even more deadly than hooks. I'll stick with my shackles before relying on a pin that holds that hook..

Chains works for a pull. But I won't ****** with chains any more. The first time I had a chain break with me it got my tailgate and bed side. Had dents everywhere from it..... But I didn't learn my lesson from it. Some time later was snatching a chevy out..... Of course lol..... But the chain broke again.... Came through my back glass and scared the sh&*%% outta me. Since that I will not yank with a chain. I will only pull. Get the chain tight and then pull. If any yanking is being done I'm using a good recovery strap. To be honest I don't like yanking or being yanked. I like a easy pull. I don't have a winch on the new truck yet but it will have one soon enough. Even tho this one is a pavement princess haha

Lol if that 8" hook rated for 150k breaks I will give my truck away.

If a d11 doesn't break it pulling haulers out no truck will ever snap one in good condition.

That hook weights 30lbs.
