Default Replaced engine, engine cranks but doesnt fire

I have a 2003 F150 with the romeo 4.6l v8. I recently replaced my engine with a low mileage motor from the same year truck. I used all of my original electrical components and only changed the long block. When I first attempted to start the truck there was no fuel to the fuel rail. I changed the fuel pump and now the fuel system is primed and pressurized. I checked via the shrader valve. Also I checked the connectors to the spark plugs and the injectors and there is power going to them. Now the engine cranks and still no attempt to fire up. I sprayed a little starting fluid inside the intake and it studdered for a second and then nothing. It didn't matter how much starter fluid I sprayed in, it still wouldn't do anything after the initial studder.

I've swapped a few motors in these year models never had a problem to where I had to keep cranking it to get it to start. Check and make sure ur crank sensor is pluged all the way in and same for the cam sensor.

well on a hunch I decided to check out the cam sensor and if that didn't work, the crank sensor. I replaced the cam sensor with the other one I have and boom it fired right up. I hate issues like this where there could be a dozen reasons why the damn thing wont work. Anyways thanks for the advice guys

Good to hear you got it going! I have done quite a few engine swaps on these trucks and if you don't have an instant fire up, it's almost always a sensor.

And for everyone else...never use starting fluid on one of these engines! They are not made for it and you can damage the engine very easily.

U can damage any engine with to much starting fluid. Never use more then a light mist if u use it at all. And when u do use it listen to the start up u normally hear rattling. Sounds awful.
