Default Shorty antenna

Just figured there were others out there like me, who enjoy the freebie mods

A few months back I stripped my antenna with air craft stripper

So I went out today and closed my vise so I could catch the ball on both side, but still slip my antenna through and popped the ball off

Cut it off to the desired length and ground the antenna end back down so the ball would slip back on and tapped it back on with a hammer.

After all said and done, it took me about 10 minutes lol, I know you can get them off fleabay for $15 but why spend it, if you don't have too.?!

Enjoy

Not a bad mod. May have to do it myself... Any changes in the reception though? And nice inviso-wipers. Any idea where i can get a set?

X2 my ball is all flattened and scratched up from going in and out of garages. I have a piece of buck shot that's the same size as the ball that should work to replace it, I was just leery of losing reception.

It doesn't bother me having a normal size antenna. It lets me know how much clearance I have.

In the same thread I read today, they were saying autozone has extra *****? Personally I've never seen them, but I guess they exist.

I use to hit limbs all the time in the big truck, oh and parking garages I would drag it the whole way... Lol this was with the 37's not 49's haha

This is just a piece of buckshot I found in the shooting cabinet that's the same size. I haven't heard of replacement *****

Might do this to mine. I bought a cheapo flexible shorty and i don't like it. It's too flexible... About 75 it looks like its gonna bend back far enough to touch the base.
