Freebie... Haha can't complain with that. I've always thought of cutting it, but new it wouldn't look right with no ball on top, remind me of " " those that use a hanger. Lol

I don't see why it wouldn't work. All that's coming to mind is a fishing weight lol

Aftermarket just never gets it right, I'll take modded stock always, you'll be glad you did, I had my big trucks as a spare if I screwed up, but it looks **** man. I love a stock appearance, and it not being stock.

Did the same to mine. Cut it down so it is 1 inch taller than the roof. Was sick of it dragging on the garage door. Now if I go somewhere and it hits, I will not fit.

Electrically speaking, a standard FM antenna should by 31" in length. They DO make shorty ones that are "bottom loaded", such that the wire that's inside the rubber housing winds up being a 31" coil. If you're in a city, then reception won't degrade too much if you cut it to any smaller length. I was considering getting one of those newfangled roof antennas, but some of them have a built-in amp, which means running another 12v line, snaked inside the cabin alongside the required RG-59 (75 ohm) cable. However, nothing beats the cost of using buckshot for a cap!

I cut 8" off today, drilled out the shot until it was a snug fit and glued it on. Still tall enough to check low low entrances but won't whack the garages constantly. Plus the ball is round again lol

Great mod. I did this immediately but it didn't kill near enough time on an otherwise slow day at the shop. I repainted it with a flat black I had laying around. I cut more than half off.

Need to do this to my truck. I'm tired of smacking the antenna on the stucco outside the house each time I pull it in and out of the garage lol

Not that's using your head for more than a hat stand, good thinking

Lmao it's my purge for the giggle juice. It would be funny to route your pissers that way so you could spray people at crosswalks, that are taking too long. Hummmmm? ;-) tempting

Lol I know right I was expecting it to take a good bit longer myself

The looks factor alone are worth it, but if you're hitting I'd do it to it too...

Nope unnecessary weight lol, plus it has a little smoother look to the cowl.
