Yeah I've spent a few hours searching on google. I found a few but there are not a lot lol.

Yeah it's looking like with my current tires a rear drop is my best bet for now. Don't really want to pull a spring out and lose any payload capacity. Truck still needs to be functional, its still a truck after all lol

What's the purpose in lowering your truck? To get in and out easier? To load it easier? In my opinion, when you lower a truck you no longer have a truck. You have an El camino or Ranchero, a car with a bed.

The new fad up at the high school is these mini trucks where they lay on the ground so much that you could literally make these kids stuck at school by nailing some 2x4's in the concrete lol.

I agree trucks should never be lowered...

Care to elaborate on how your truck with a 5.5" lift, bro wheels and 35s on stock gears is so more functional than a truck that sits an inch or two lower than stock?

Real trucks dont have fancy wheels or lifts, painted engine bays, fancy sound systems or light bars! I concider them new trucks SUVs with a birth defect! This is a real truck!

A truck that sits lower has a lower center of gravity. Which means more towing stability, I wont get pushed around as much in the wind, and if an unexpected tight corner pops up I have far less chance of rolling than you do. Also the smaller tires effectively lowers my gear ratio. Getting in and out of the truck is easier, as is loading things in the bed and working in the engine bay. Even with a drop I'll have plenty of ground clearance (Were only talking a max of 2/3 inches lower than stock). But wait, the inch or two just turned my truck into a car, incapable of hauling more than a few groceries. Can I use that as an excuse next time someone wants help moving? LOL.

But wait, if I had been asking about lifting a 2wd you would all tell me not to bother. lol.

Your truck has... Ground clearance. Which means nothing to something that doesnt off road (AKA: ME!). But your truck is a pain to load things into, get in and out of (Which does mean a lot to someone with joint pains), and you need a ladder to do anything in the engine bay. Not to mention the 35s on stock gears (I dont remember reading about any upgrades there). My truck felt gutless with 32s and 3.55s, cant imagine 35s.

But hey, y'know... Redneck. My truck could run yours over. My truck sits a few inches higher and has bigger tires, effectively making your truck a car.

In all seriousness, I like your truck. I've read through your build and its coming along nicely. I've had lifted 4x4s. But I've grown tired of climbing in and out of my vehicles. I would agree with your post if I were talking about slamming. But I'm talking about a modest 1/2, 2/2 or a 2/3. I'm not talking about a show truck with 22 inch chrome wheels. Something like this, which seems very functional still:

I believe those individuals actually like the way it looks. That's the only purpose.

Makes me think of an old trailer park for some reason. But yea, to each it's own as said earlier.

There was a point in time where I thought of lowering my truck so I could cut plywood out the back easier, but I ended up lifting it lol. If looks are the only reason to screw with your suspension (lift or lower), I don't think it's worth it.

Maybe the bridges are really low in his area? Bet you didn't think of that lol.

I haul plywood and lumber all the time for my projects and even a stock height 4x4 was a bit of a PITA when I was constantly in and out of the bed. Now that's it's lifted, I just go to the gym more often, and mentally prepare myself for getting out of the truck bed, lol.

A lowered or low 2wd height work truck would be the most efficient use of the bed. I'd love a 2wd two tone '77 long bed for a shop or farm truck. Hell, if I didn't have a pampered kid and wife I'd have one right now as a Daily driver. :0)

Exactly. I've always thought SWB looks best lowered and a LWB looks best lifted.

Well, you have a 4x4. Lowering it would defeat the purpose of having a 4x4 lol.

If it means much, I had a 96 ranger w/ a 2 inch lift (So it basically sat a little higher than a stock 2wd f150), and a 4x4 expedition. I dont know if it was lifted but it always seemed higher than other 4x4 expeditions (Tbars were cranked). I'm 6'1 and I still had to hop to get in that thing. Got old quick lol.

Yep. Even at my trucks stock height (Plus the larger tires) getting things out of the bed is a PITA. Which is why I decided not to lift it. And like I said, were talking either a 0/2, 2/2, or a 2/3 drop here. Not slammed by any means.
