Forgive me if there is a thread already about this, but I didn't see one and I'm sure there are more people like me out there who use their truck for work from time to time. I work out of my truck almost completely for about 4-5 months out of the year, so finding something that could permanently hold my laptop was necessary.
My last truck was a 2005 FX4 and this mount worked just like it does here in my 2011 model FX2. The kit that you can buy for the F-150 will not work for those of us who have the center console as the riser for the laptop mount will get in the way. I bought the base plate and the quick release hub as you will see in the pictures. This allows for a simple 5 second removal and installation of the laptop and arm when it's needed. It also keeps as little in the truck as possible when not in use as well.
Also to note that a passenger CAN sit in the seat WITH the mount and laptop in the truck. I have taken my wife on several trips with me and she's able to use it no problem. It also does not obstruct in any way any of the factory controls or console or cupholders. Almost infinite adjustability to how and where you want it to be placed as well and will fit all the way up to a 17" laptop. My apologies for the dirt in the pictures, the mount has been sitting on a shelf almost 2 years since I sold my truck![Wink](https://www.f150forum.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
First two pictures show the mount with the passenger seat all the way back to show how it mounts. You only have to remove the front seat bolts, put a little pressure on the back of the seat to tilt it up and slide the mount in and bolt it back in. All factory trim and controls work as they should.

This picture shows how visible it is with the passenger seat at about where most of my passengers leave it. It can still move further forward and the mount does not obstruct it.

Mount with the arm and laptop mount on it adjusted to where I usually leave it when I'm working by myself.

And finally driver seat view.

I don't have another brand to compare to, but I am VERY happy with this one and if everyone else switched, I think I got the right one

The ram laptop tough tray™ is a spring loaded, expandable tray that can accomodate laptops from 10-16 inches wide with screen sizes up to 17 inches. Just to add to what Wyo just said, basically you will see a break in the tray on the left hand side closer to the hooks on the left. It actually spreads apart and holds it via spring pressure. You spread those hooks away from the others and put the laptop on between. Those four hooks along with the spring pressure, hold the laptop where it is. You can easily adjust the hooks to just about any size laptop. I use a pretty standard 15" for work but I have a Dell XPS 17" that is a monster and it fits on the mount as well, but just barely.
