It’s a little cold for even a drive through wash? Any worry about doors/locks freezing?

What size ovals are they?

Funny, while filling it, I can’t decide if it’s way too big or not big enough 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

It'll never be big enough. I wouldn't trust a drive thru car wash right now. I've heard of several cases of people getting trapped in them recently because the garage doors are getting frozen in place with how cold it is here. This week should be interesting for a lot of the country. Our forecast thru Friday morning is currently 3-20" LOL.

I bolded/italicized the important part

As badly as I want to wash mine, there’s no way I’m doing it until warmer. Low of -19° tomorrow, certainly the coldest I can remember. 29° by Friday, 36° Saturday, might drag the pool out so the kids can play 😂

Ridiculous! Can we skip to May?

On the truck, I hit 105,000 miles and let them do a coolant/transmission flush with my last oil change. Plugs (according to Ford) were due at 100k but I just did them at 77k and think I’ll do them again around 125k.

This extra cold weather has me thankful for heated seats and has me rethinking Katzkins in the future. I’m thinking a heated wheel might be better, and then I better figure out how to do it in the wife’s Explorer!

36 gallon tank might be the next thing, perhaps early summer project.

Looks a lot like our forecast. They are saying today will be one of the top 10 worst winter weather days in Kansas, EVER. Stay safe brother!

Nope, carwash did amazing. I have a 30 minute drive home after the wash. I got home, opened and closed all 4 doors, no issues. I did do the home door lock fix a couple years ago and have never had so much as a hiccup with doors not shutting/latching. This wash is a "Club Carwash" open in an temp above 0. It does a great job. The ovals are 9" if I remember.

Have not had much a chance to work more in the garage but spared five minutes tonight. I got hooked up with some “accessories” at work 👍🏻

I haven’t done anything in awhile to the truck, I’ve been focused on researching a new zero turn mower. If I end up not buying a new mower, I’ll probably go ahead and go the 36 gallon swap.

There was one little thing...

Never a fun thing

I’ve read for years about 5.0s being tough on water pumps, and at almost 112,000 miles, mine joined the club. Luckily it was in the morning before I was leaving early for a trip to the in-laws- much better than having it happen later than day on the KS turnpike with my wife and kids with me.

120,000 miles now, no problems since the water pump. No changes other than new floor mats, which arrived today.

I’ve been very supportive of WeatherTech, am a fan of the company, but was a little disappointed how long they’ve lasted. These were used (and free) when I did the console swap but my “over-the-hump” WT mat was starting to wear the same.

So, I was considering other options and browsing Amazon when I found a good buy on Husky Weather-Beaters.

Even those they were free, I got my money’s worth

This is where I realized how long it’s been since I’ve cleaned the truck. Two kids under 3 really change priorities

Initial thoughts: easily twice as thick as the WeatherTech and you can feel it in the weight. For all the love I’ve read about them on Facebook, I thought the fit was fine but not as great as they’re made to sound. I’m sure they’ll do fine!

Since I think I mentioned it previously, I did upgrade mowers. It’s a Spartan 54” RZ-HD with 25hp Briggs. I love it, does a great job and I’m getting done faster 👍🏻

Hannah was ready to mow!

I hear you on the '2 under 3' thing

The fit should be good, but yeah, the weather beater version is not quite the same parallel as the Weather techs, you'd need Husky XAct fit for that - but glad they're feeling and working better for you.
