It’s happened before and happened again last night, my resume/cancel cruise buttons wouldn’t work. Then 15 miles down the road, they worked again. Are they just going bad?

It’s not an all the time issue, just often enough that I forget about it.

Could that be a clock-spring issue?

Well if it’s the clockspring, I have a heated wheel that will be delivered tomorrow. I don’t know why but apparently you have to replace the clockspring as part of that swap process (maybe it makes sense once I’m there).

So it’s getting replaced at some point anyway.

The heated wheel clockspring is usually paired with adaptive cruise control so there are more pins to communicate with the heater and the different buttons for adaptive cruise control. They are drastically different but enough to follow the Ford way of making a whole new part for 1, 2, or 3 different features. I'm not sure but it might also have something to do with the different steering columns the (normal manual tilt and the power tilt).

On the 12th gen at least, it is not uncommon for the button modules to start going out, i don't imagine it changed too much for the 13th gen. They're easily replaceable modules for the 12th gen.

In one of those threads I linked for CC issues, they replaced a button module and it didn't fix it until they replaced the clock spring. Everything I linked was for 13th gens......

I think I actually replaced one on the 2012 I had.

I’ve got to buy a clockspring regardless for the heated wheel project. I think it’d be odd that the least used buttons would be the ones to go bad first (as opposed to +/- and the d-pad) but nothing surprises me anymore.

Well look here, there’s some new cruise control buttons!

I always thought that trim was silver, it looks more like the graphite I have in my truck. Many thanks to @Bremsen for a pleasant transaction in the Buy/Sell/Trade section. It’s a very nice wheel.

I ordered the correct harness from Boosted Grey Goose designs, I have not ordered the clockspring, module, or the clips yet.

That does look like a nice wheel, seems the 13th gen wheel has some more nods to the shaping of the Raptor wheel that the 12th gen regular wheel.

You are going to be very thankful you took the plunge on that heated wheel next winter!
