We’ll see if this solves my Sync 3 upgrade navigation problem.

I realize I could probably have better positioned it out of sight, but this way will have no doubt.

@Watson Tech if my GPS still sometimes gets lost, is it a bad antenna?

Things happened today!

Did a little cleaning! Used a new to me product, I’m very pleased with the results.

And I got the heated wheel finished!

Now for the questions:

Stumbled across this:

Did I smash the cord when I moved it today? Is this the source of my GPS going wacky at times? Something I accidentally did in FORScan while doing heated wheel stuff?

And also:

I noticed when I backed up to park, the white lines that move with the wheel are gone.

You are going to be very glad you took the dive on that heated steering wheel!

I thought I knew what caused the white lines to disappear but I couldn't find it when I went out to play around on my truck. I want to say it is some sort of camera assist? Or tow mode? I think it may go away when a trailer is hooked up? Hopefully someone else can chime in and help for sure.

What’s weird, they were back today.

And it wasn’t needed, but I turned the wheel on this morning driving to work, just because I could 👍🏻

I have another thread going about my starter issues that I’ve mentioned here before. I’ll pick up another new starter tomorrow and hopefully get it swapped out over the weekend.

I think my GPS issues are solved. I drove to Kansas City today and had no issues whatsoever. For someone who hates KC traffic, it was a relief to have the in dash navigation working instead of trying to use my phone.

Spotted my truck on top of the parking garage!

KU Med is a huge place. If I’d known where I was going, I would have parked on the roof of a different parking garage, next to my dad’s Blue Jeans F150. We could actually see his truck from Mom’s room!

Went to change the starter and found the main connection was loose. Tightened it back up, but I’m a little worried how quickly/easily it got loose.

I also changed all 8 plugs today. That passenger side isn’t much fun. I went around the block, I think maybe it runs smoother but it might be in my head, I always think they run better with fresh plugs. It’s been about 60,000 miles if I remember correctly.

No pictures of even the old plugs… maybe I’ll take one later haha

Huh, weird on the starter cable loosening, but good find, does it use a lock nut, or a single nut with locking-tech on it?

Plugs nearly always make it feel smoother, you're not wrong, what gap did you set them to? (or confirm them at) you checking them all, right?

Its just a plain nut, thin like a jam nut. No lock washer, I have a feeling I’ll see this again.

I didn’t gap them or verify them, first time ever. I was told it’s really easy to damage the tip, so I left them alone. We’ll see what happens.

Got a picture of the starter connection? if it's a ring connector for the wire on a threaded post, then it should only need a regular nut and should hold itself when tightened correctly.

Yes, you can damage tips if you monkey around with it, but checking your gaps are correct is a good idea, saves any questions later. Which plugs did you get?
