I haven’t mentioned on here while letting my truck melt snow off Thanksgiving weekend, my windshield decided to crack. The $285 for the windshield is fine but adding the cost of tint makes it worse.
So the next thing, after this and TPMS issues, I got a P1450 code after leaving work today. It appears to be a purge valve, or at least that’s where to start?
It took 8 days for that CEL to reappear, so I went ahead and replaced that purge valve, CX-2696. Luckily my sister works for a Ford dealer and I was able to purchase it at her cost for a little cheaper than Advanced Auto or RockAuto.
New part is obvious vs the rest of my dirty engine
Install was very easy and was only a few minutes, including find the right size socket (8mm) and making faces at my kids (got home with their mom as I finished up).
Interesting as I had a CEL the last couple of months or so, its was either the gas cap or purge valve, Reset it 3 times after checking the gas cap and it would come back on a week later, Replaced my purge valve as well a couple weeks ago and no more CEL.
I've been fighting that code too. I replaced my canister purge valve, charcoal canister, and vent solenoid. I also cleaned my "gas cap." Still have it, but I haven't dug any further on it.
Nothing new on the truck but decided to go wash today. I sprayed it down with Purple Power before washing and it did a great job knocking out the stubborn traffic film that wouldn’t just wash off.

I thought I posted after this- I clay barred the hood and busted out the Griots Garage G9 I bought almost 4 years ago and gave it a spin (hood only).
It was fun but the whole truck will be a lot of work.
Ordered Powerstop Z36 brake pads for the front. I’ve always used CarQuest pads but decided I’d see if the online hype about Powerstop is worth it.
Ordered new pins and boots from the local Advance Auto, had $5 Speedperks about to expire.
Have had something squeaking up front and brakes were my first thought. They have almost 80,000 miles on them so I figured it’s probably time regardless.
Hoping it’s not idea #2, wheel bearing/hub assembly.
Drivers side, inside pad. Apparently this pad did all the stopping up front as the other looked much better. It’s what has me thinking I should still maybe do the caliper.
