Have a 96 f150 302 ,runs grate .but sometimes will shut down(could be anywhere anytime).I was told it was the fuel pump, replaced it and its still doing it. Fire looks good new coil. Any ideas.

Stop guessing and replacing parts. When the engine fails to start, check fuel pressure, should be 30-45 psi and for spark. Hopefully you can get your truck to run grate again.

That's a pretty common symptom of a bad ignition module on your distributor. They heat up and sporadically stop working.

Agreed. Classic symptom of bad ICM or distributor pickup.

Diagnose, dont just replace parts. Today's parts store products are often bad right out of the box. Choose Motorcraft or OEM whenever possible.
