I think the FPDM is inside the cab, might be wrong. Could check tomorrow at work. I know all about them in the F-150, Super duties and Sport-Tracs. The later Expedition EL's melt the connector inside the pump, sometimes pop the maxi fuse.
Shorting the FPDM will only give battery voltage to the pump, same as 100% duty cycle. Pump will make full pressure 80+psi. All part of diagnosis on this system. No pump operation even with scan tool command. Jump the two big wires at the FPDM, should have max pressure with a good pump.

OK, according to my source, the Expy did not get the FPDM until 2005. I also show that there is a regulator on the fuel rail.

Haven't learned the hard way in awhile.

I wasn't aware they went returnless in 03 on the Expy

TRD is probably basking in the ambiance. Good job for sure.
Hence my confusion lol

Yeah thats wicked looking. Found 2 post for 05 and 06 one has a picture of it by the rear driver side wheel. another shows it in the diagram... but mine is not there ha! no mount no nothing.

Going try to find it when i drop the tank to put new fuel pump in.

This came up as a Fuel Injection Pressure Damper at the local parts stores, and what info my friend could find.

If it's in the cab, it's probably fine. No corrosion there. C-pillar on pass side but I can know for sure where it is tomorrow.

On another note, its been sitting for few hours now went out and cranked it, fired up almost instantly but still pressure drops to 0 with in 30secs after shutting it down. So the Fuel Injection Pressure Damper kinda helped a lil.

Interesting. I just took the two pics from it and put them together... but it does indeed use the different terminology.

I've been going through my Buddy's online manuals, and I don't think it has a FPDM. There is not one listed in the Expy until 2005. I think it is indeed returnless, but uses the regulator to "dampen" pressure spikes, which probably explains why Moose found it listed as a damper. The 5.0 Explorer's use that same set-up.

EDIT: The Dorman part says 05-08 too...
