Do you happen to have a part number for that Ford kit?

No man , I don't. If I could blow it up enough to see the paperwork... can't too distorted, old pic.

The pic of the kit I had when doing my trans. Back in 08. Never ended up going with one.

But it looks like the Ford kit comes with compression fitting barbs. Might want to look into those. I would, blown hoses suck on a trans.

I was just sniffing around for that kit, and I ran across this. This might be the single dumbest place he could have mounted the filter housing.

Huh, yea. That would get in the way. It'll work, one of the best filters ever made..the big FL1A! But all that cooling on the 4.2L ?

Alright I have a quick question for ya @Jbrew, got 85k on my rig now, I take it its easily worth the extra money to buy the ams oil trans fluid, but how did you get all your old fluid out? and to @white89GT, i bought this for my filtration system
Amazon.com: Derale 15728 Remote Filter Mount Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Derale 15728 Remote Filter Mount Kit: Automotive

makes it a little easier when you can throw a spin on filter on there, and its cheap. Ive also read it helps cooling as well, marginaly, but every degree counts when it comes to the temp of the trans.

P.S.- se if you have a local amsoil dealer. I have one literally a block from where I work, nice guy, bought my 75w-140 severe gear oil from him and only spent $54 for 3 quarts. you may have a local dealer near you. worth the quick google.

Yeah.. I'm not claiming to be prophetic, but I can see that thing falling right down and hitting exhaust, serpentine belt.... lol.

Nice! Does that by chance have a bung for a temp sensor? I am kind of thinking I might just add a gauge to this thing.

There's a guy on www.therangerstation.com that is an Amsoil dealer. I'll be damned if I can remember his username over there. Jbrew's got the cogs turning in my head. I may just need to do Amsoil in the old pickup. Kind od curious too if they make a good fluid specifically for a manual trans too. My T5 in my Stang is almost brand new, and I need to give it its first change.
